Rules

 

ORGANIZER AND CONTEST PERIOD

1.    The Win $2,000 in cash! contest is organized and held by Primmum Insurance Company (referred to hereinafter as the “Organizer”), which can issue home and automobile* insurance policies under the business name Primmum Insurance Company . The contest will run from December 14, 2009 to February 26, 2010, 11:59 p.m. (ET) inclusively (referred to hereinafter as the “Contest Period”).

*    Due to provincial legislation, our automobile insurance program is not offered in British Columbia, Manitoba or Saskatchewan. Therefore, the contest is void in these three provinces with respect to entries in connection with automobile insurance.


ELIGIBILITY

2.    Subject to other conditions of eligibility set out in these contest rules, this contest is open only to physical persons (referred to hereinafter as “Eligible participants”) who, at the moment of the inscription and at the  time of the draw :

  • Are residents of Canada and have reached the age of majority where they reside;
  • Are entitled to receive insurance group rate of the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals (CAAMP) (referred to hereinafter as “Eligible group”).

In addition, Eligible participants must meet one of the following conditions during the Contest Period:

a)      provide the Organizer with the expiry date of their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy; or

b)      request/agree to receive a quote on home and/or private passenger automobile insurance from the Organizer; or

c)      hold a home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy from the Organizer during the Contest Period.

The following individuals are excluded from this contest:

  • Those who provide the expiry date of their motorhome, trailer, antique vehicle, snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and motorcycle insurance policies.
  • Those who request/agree to receive quotes on motorhome, trailer, antique vehicle, snowmobile, ATV and motorcycle insurance policies.
  • Those who hold motorhome, trailer, antique vehicle, snowmobile, ATV and motorcycle insurance policies.
  • The Organizer and its affiliated companies (defined as all of the companies affiliated with TD Bank Financial Group), their employees, representatives or mandatories, advertising or promotion agencies, a member of the jury, suppliers of the Prize and the persons with whom they are domiciled may not enter this contest.

3.    No purchase is required. All Eligible participants who provide the expiry dates of their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policies or request/agree to receive a free, no-obligation quote on home and/or private passenger automobile insurance, or hold a home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy from the Organizer in accordance with the present rules, will automatically be entered in the contest.

4.    There is a limit of one (1) entry per person per insurance category (one entry for private passenger automobile insurance and one entry for home insurance) during the contest Period for a maximum of two (2) entries per Eligible participant notwithstanding the fact that the Eligible participant has satisfied more than one conditions as described in section 2 of these rules.


HOW TO PARTICIPATE

5.    Provide home and/or private passenger automobile insurance expiry dates to the Organizer

Eligible participants can enter this contest by sending the expiry date of their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy to the Organizer during the Contest Period using one of the four following methods:

5.1 Reply form

Eligible participants may provide the Organizer with the expiry date of their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy. To do so, Eligible participants must fill out the reply form distributed across Canada by mail to members of the Eligible group during the Contest Period. Eligible participants must clearly indicate their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy expiry date, first name, last name, address, city, province, postal code and telephone number on the reply form, and return it back to the Organizer. Facsimiles of reply forms will not be accepted. Reply forms must be mailed or delivered by hand to the address indicated on the reply form by February 26, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (ET). If mailed, a post mark bearing proof of the mailing date must appear. The Organizer is not responsible for any mail delay.

5.2  Contest coupon

Eligible participants may also provide the Organizer with the expiry date of their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy by completing the contest coupon available at Eligible group special events during the Contest Period. Eligible Participants must clearly indicate their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy expiry date, first name, last name, address, city, province, postal code and telephone number and deposit the contest coupon in the specially designated contest box before the end of the special event. Facsimiles of the contest coupons will not be accepted.

5.3 Electronic form

Eligible participants may also communicate the expiry date of their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy during the Contest Period using the electronic form available at www.primmum.com/caamp, or on other Web sites pertaining to this contest. To get to the electronic form, Eligible participants must click on the promotional banner for the Win $2,000 in cash! contest. Once Eligible participants have reached the selected page, they may click on the button “Expiry date” and complete the electronic form by indicating their first name, last name, address, city, province, postal code, telephone number and e-mail address along with their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy expiry date. Once the electronic form has been duly completed, Eligible participants must simply click on the “Submit” button and the form will be sent automatically to the Organizer. Participants will automatically be entered in the contest, if eligible. Only electronic forms with all required fields duly completed and received by the Organizer by February 26, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (ET) will be accepted for entry into the contest. (An asterisk on the form identifies the required fields.)

5.4 Telephone

Eligible participants may also provide their home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy expiry date by calling toll-free 1 866 814 9603 or any of the telephone numbers listed on the Organizer’s advertising material during the Contest Period. In addition, they must provide their first name, last name, address, city, province, postal code and telephone number. For more information on how to reach the nearest office, Eligible participants may call toll-free any of the phone numbers listed in the Organizer’s advertising material.

6.    Request/agree to receive a home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy quotes from the Organizer

Eligible participants can enter this contest by requesting or receiving a home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policy quote from the Organizer during the Contest Period using one of these two (2) methods:

6.1 Telephone

Eligible participants may call toll-free 1 866 814 9603 or any of the telephone numbers listed on the Organizer’s advertising material in order to request a home and/or private passenger automobile insurance quote or Eligible participants may agree to receive a quote from the Organizer’s Client Services representative during the Contest Period. Eligible participants will have to provide their first name, last name, address, city, province, postal code and telephone number, as well as all the information requested to complete the home or private passenger automobile quote. For more information of how to reach the nearest office, call toll free any of the phone numbers listed on the Organizer’s advertising material.

6.2 E-quote

Eligible participants may also request a home and/or private passenger automobile insurance quote by electronic means using the electronic quote form available at www.primmum.com/caamp or on other Web sites pertaining to this contest during the Contest Period. To get to the electronic form, Eligible participants must click on the promotional banner for the Win $2,000 in cash! contest, they may click on either the “Home insurance quote” or the “Auto insurance quote” button and complete the quote form. To do so, Eligible participants must follow the different steps of the electronic quote form and fill out all mandatory fields such as e-mail address, first name, last name, complete address, postal code and telephone number, as well as all the information requested to complete the quote. Once the electronic quote form has been duly completed, Eligible participants need simply click on “Submit” and the electronic quote form will automatically be sent to the Organizer. Participants will automatically be entered in the contest if they are eligible. Only electronic quote forms with all required fields duly and accurately completed and received by the Organizer by February 26, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (ET) will be accepted for the purposes of entry in the contest. (Mandatory fields are identified by an asterisk.).

7.    Home and/or private passenger automobile insurance policyholders

Eligible participants who hold a home or private passenger automobile insurance policy issued by the Organizer between December 14, 2009 and February 26, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (ET) will automatically be entered in the contest. Please note that all Eligible participants who cancel or choose not to renew their home or private passenger automobile insurance policy during the Contest Period will nevertheless remain entered in the contest; however, they must still be entitled to receive insurance group rate of the Eligible group at the time of the draw.

 

DRAW

8.    One (1) draw will be held by a representative of the Organizer at approximately 10:00 a.m. (ET) on March 5, 2010 at the Organizer’s office located at 50 Place Crémazie,12th floor, Montréal, Québec  H2P 1B6. On that date, one (1) Eligible participant will be selected at random from all valid entries received between December 14, 2009 and February 26, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. (ET), according to the contest rules, in order to be awarded the prize described in sections 9 and 10 below.

Odds of winning depend on the total number of valid entries received by the Organizer during the Contest Period.

 

PRIZE

9.    The Prize consists of a cheque of two (2) thousand dollars Canadian ($2,000 CDN).

10.    The Prize must be accepted as described in these rules and may not be exchanged or substituted by another prize.

 

GENERAL CONDITIONS

11.    The contest is open to Eligible participants who are entitled to receive insurance group rate of the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals who are residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority where they reside. The reply forms, contest coupons, quote forms and insurance policies will be subject to verification by the Organizer to ensure that the participant is eligible according to these rules. All incomplete, inaccurate, illegible, late or facsimile inscriptions will be automatically cancelled. The Organizer’s decision to this effect is final and cannot be appealed.

12.    By participating in this contest, the winner authorizes the Organizer and its representatives to use his/her name, place of residence, photographs, image, voice and/or statements regarding his/her prize for advertising purposes (such as Internet and print ads) without any compensation.

13.    The Organizer or its agents will attempt to contact by phone the person whose entry was selected at random, using the information on the reply form, contest coupon, quote form, the information transmitted by telephone or the insurance policy, as the case may be. If the person in question cannot be reached within ten working (10) days of the draw date, then the Organizer or its agents may draw another valid entry at random and will attempt to contact this person in the same manner and so on until someone is declared a winner.

14.    Before being declared a winner, the Eligible participant whose entry has been selected at random must answer correctly, without assistance and within a limited time period, a mathematical skill-testing question. The question will be submitted by phone to the randomly selected Eligible participant, at a previously determined time.

15.    Before being declared a winner, the Eligible participant must sign a general consent and release form relieving the Organizer, its affiliate companies (defined as all of the companies affiliated with TD Bank Financial Group) and agents from all liability with respect to any damages that may be sustained directly or indirectly from participation in the contest or from the acceptance and use of the Prize. Once these steps have been completed by the selected Eligible participant, he/she will be declared winner, the winning contestant will then be informed as to how he/she can collect his/her Prize. 

16.    If the selected Eligible participant refuses to sign the general consent and release form, he/she will not be declared the winner and will not be awarded the Prize. A new Eligible participant will be selected at random by the Organizer as provided in section 8 until all conditions are satisfied and the Prize is actually awarded to a contest winner.

17.    For the purpose of these rules and subject to the eligibility criteria set out herein, the Eligible participant is the person whose name appears on the contest coupon, the reply form, who calls to give expiry dates or request a quote or the insurance policyholder. In the event that more than one person’s name appears on the winning entry, all such persons will be jointly declared winners of the prize. They will then have to decide among themselves who will answer the mathematical skill-testing question and who will get the prize. In case of a disagreement between them, the Organizer reserves the right to decide who will be asked the mathematical skill-testing question and to whom the prize will be remitted.

18.    The Organizer, its affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, their respective employees, agents and representatives are not liable for faulty computer components, software or links, the loss or non-existence of communications capability, or faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible, or erased computer or network transmissions that render an individual ineligible for this contest. The Organizer, its affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, their respective employees, agents and representatives waive all liability from any damage or loss that could arise, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from downloading any software and by transmitting any data relating to the participation in this contest. Persons found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this contest, as solely determined by the Organizer, will be disqualified. If disqualified for any of the above abuses, the Organizer reserves the right to terminate a participant’s eligibility to participate.

19.    The Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, terminate or suspend this contest, in whole or in part, if an event or any human intervention corrupts or affects the administration, security, impartiality or the normal running of the contest as provided for in these rules, subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux du Québec (“Régie”), if required. In all cases, the Organizer, its affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, their suppliers of material or services related to this contest as well as their respective employees, agents and representatives cannot be held to award more prizes or to award the prize otherwise than in compliance with these rules.

20.    For contests in Québec, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

21.    By entering this contest or trying to do so, all persons release the Organizer, its affiliated companies, their advertising and promotional agencies, their respective employees, agents and representatives from any damage which could arise directly or indirectly from their participation or attempt to participate in the contest.
